Eastern Metal Signs & Safety manufactures 36″ and 48″ roll-up signs in breathable Mesh, Non-Reflective Vinyl (NVRFO), and high-intensity reflective options like Marathon and Diamond Grade. Using the wrong material—such as a non-reflective sign at night—can lead to compliance violations and safety hazards.
Understanding Roll-Up Sign Materials

Mesh (Daytime / High-Wind): Constructed from a breathable, woven fabric, mesh signs allow wind to pass through, making them highly stable in gusty environments. They are lightweight and ideal for daytime operations, but they offer zero reflectivity and cannot be used for nighttime work zones.

NVRFO – Non-Reflective Fluorescent Orange (Daytime): Made from durable, solid vinyl, NVRFO is the standard, cost-effective choice for daytime-only utility work, landscaping, or emergency response. It provides excellent daytime visibility but does not meet nighttime reflectivity standards.

Marathon (Day & Night / High-Performance): Marathon is a premium microprismatic reflective sheeting. It provides excellent wide-angle reflectivity, making it a highly durable and flexible option for work zones that transition from day to night.

Diamond Grade / DG (Maximum Nighttime Visibility): Diamond Grade represents the highest tier of reflective sheeting. It is engineered with full-cube microprisms to return maximum light to drivers, making it the required standard for high-speed highway deployments and complex nighttime work zones.
